uhh..Gandalf..the.. <really> shiny?
Gahaha YESSS after a 2nd attempt at Satoshi Kamiya’s Wizard, I managed to pull through! Yea but the work part was hard though, I’ve got no idea how long I’ve spent on this model, all i know was that it took me 2 days, a forum consult, some really crease-holding paper and some glue. Yup i cheated =D but just as other folders had problem with the right hand griping on to the staff, they decided to just glue the hand and the staff together and so did I.Well I did modify certain areas of the model:I twisted the and curled the staff, opened each of the shoulder pleats to create a proper looking sleeve, crimped the hat a little more so that it actually looks like a hat, unlike several other models I’ve seen where they left it looking like a half-hood or sumth.I also made the robe more stretched out,as for the hands I did have problem with them but anyways I simply wet folded them again, although the quality of the paper made my life difficult. I dont know what type of paper I used, I...
Hercules beetle, Robert J. Lang
This is a piece from Robert J Lang’s Insects and their kin, published way back in 1995.And this day I finally folded it, because I had promise a friend I would learn it.I’ve also attempted a few other origami pieces, such as the Wizard from Satoshi Kamiya(yes, its the same one from David’s blog). I did not succeed due to my paper size, I was using A4 squares but the size suggestion was 35x35 squares. The Wizard turned out disgustingly plump and was very difficult to shape even with wet folding. But I still have the crease pattern and I’m studying my mistakes.I also attempted the Robert Lang’s cicada, from the same book. The failure there was the bore factor of paper again, this time it was the wrong quality. The main problem was actually shaping the head, tendrils and antennae and because of my paper quality being too stiff or too soft often wore out the paper thus ruining the head. Anyways heres some pictures of the completed Beetle. Its only my first attempt, and unlike the cicada it was...
School Website's New Banner
I’ve created the banner for our school’s new website so check it out and rate it using the poll box >>> edit: I’ve added several versions of the banner, in arrangement from the alpha stages to the current one. (click on image for full view) Please note that its only a sample, its not fully complete. The finishing touches are the addition of maybe a bigger school logo, address and other web requirements and criteria that fulfill what ever Ong wants(gossh he’s such a drag). All are comments appreciated. edit: enhanced the colours, adjusted the hue and colour balance, added more spots.
Broken river
Once you always had this smile, It calms my temper, shakes my spine It rushes my heart, temps my soul Taking me deeper, making me whole. Once we had this special time We shared our lives, our sorrows and lines We learned to love,in between lie So here I stand, bleeding out my eyes.. Arguing:I held a Cri Du Coeur, Under this moonlight, weeping we sunder But somehow I know,we'll miss each other Turning back, I came for an answer Coming closer, hearing resonant cries This wound gets deeper,I feel it inside Hugging your gentleness, our tears combine Creating this river,And kissing divine. I called this poem "broken river because rivers cant be broken(dwuh) well i got inspiration from re-reading "The Cinderella girl" and i just thought "I havent written a romance poem yet so why not try?"
